Tunnel Face Mapping
Activities include:
- Reviewing the tunnel design manual and drawings
- Reviewing the rock mass rating or other method of rock classification to be used on the site
- Preparing a template for tunnel mapping if not provided yet
- Inspecting ground conditions before and after tunneling activities to characterize ground conditions
- Measuring the dip and dip direction of major and minor structures
- Classifying ground conditions and suitable ground support system
- Taking photographs of the tunnel surface and recording them together with the visual inspection results
- Preparing a tunnel mapping report
