We provide pressure meter testing and interpretation in soil or rock formations in order to provide you with parameters for designing high rise buildings, bridges, rails, tunnels etc.

The pressure meter test is an in-situ stress-controlled loading test performed on the wall of a borehole using a cylindrical probe which can expand radially.

From the test readings (volume variation based on controlled pressure), a stress-strain curve can be obtained, and the following parameters obtained:

  • Pressure meter modulus
  • Creep pressure
  • Limit pressure

Pressure meter testing has the following benefits:

  • Can be conveniently used with drilling equipment.
  • Tests can be done in soft clay or loose sands
  • Can be used to accurately design shallow foundations and for lateral and vertical capacity of deep foundations
