Site Inspections During Box Cut or Portal Excavation

  • Inspect the ground conditions during excavation and log the soil or rock revealed after the excavation
  • Visually log the soil and rock, describe them in accordance with the AS1289 to provide information on their strengths, weathering, moisture condition, consistency/relative density, colour, structural geology, i.e. joints, beddings, infill and other rock features
  • prepare a site inspection report outlining the finding from the above
  • the site inspection report will be submitted to the Project Site Engineer for subsequent Permit to Excavate consideration
