Geotesta was involved in setting up and maintaining the geotechnical instrumentation and remote monitoring system to monitor the stability of the slope in the area.
The geotechnical instrumentation system includes a series of vibrating wire Piezometers to monitor the groundwater level, Inclinometers to monitor the ground deformation, a weather station to monitor the rainfall intensity and Extensometers to monitor the slope movement.
In addition to that, Geotesta instrumentation engineer installed and set up a time-lapse CCTV camera to capture the slope image and the adjoining road.
All the monitoring data are captured and transmitted using a custom designed industrial PC on Telstra telecommunication network.
