CIVIL / GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERS
The Role
In this role you will have the opportunity to work across a broad portfolio of challenging projects and work with a diverse and dynamic team of passionate engineers, while assisting them in delivering multi-disciplinary projects for a range of diverse clients based locally and nationally.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in select training programs in conjunction with Engineers Australia and/or other providers.
Main responsibilities include the following:
• Participate in project delivery, ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard, and quality assured
• Prepare geotechnical factual and design reports
• Developing design/construction documents and specifications
• Perform routine tasks, tests and computations associated with geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and field observations
• Contribute to technical discussions including attending and participating in client/team progress meetings and preparation of meeting records
• Where required perform laboratory analyses in support of construction and geotechnical engineering projects
• Perform geotechnical field investigations, including drilling and logging, and DCP, Shear Vane, LWD and FWD testing
• Performing geotechnical analysis and assessment
• Collect field samples and perform field logging of exploratory test bores, and undertake and manage field testing and evaluating geo materials
• Independently operate relevant equipment
• Preparation of tenders and proposals
• Where required communicate directly with clients
• Manage customer relationships for small projects, or a small part of a larger project
• Use exceptional time management skills to manage multiple assignments at any given time
• Work in a safe, efficient, and detail-oriented manner
• Train and support junior staff (as required
Additional Requirements
• Keep a detailed account of activities throughout the day and week
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and vehicle
• Be prepared to work as required either indoor or outdoors, including working at all types of sites
• Periodic travel may be required
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology
• 2+ years’ experience in Geotechnical investigation and reporting
• Valid Australian driving licence
• White card
• Full Australian working rights
• High standard of computer literacy
• Client focus
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal (to liaise with clients)
• Ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines and manage time
effectively
• A willingness to take a hands-on approach
• Be a strong team player with the capability of also being able to work autonomously
• Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, management, customers
and stakeholders
