Harbourside, Darling Harbour

Read more below

Mirvac’s Harbourside is a $2–2.3 billion transformation of the former Harbourside Shopping Centre at Darling Harbour into a mixed-use waterfront precinct, delivering retail, hospitality, premium office space and a 42–48 storey luxury residential tower as part of Darling Harbour’s broader $15 billion renewal. As a Transport for NSW (TfNSW) Technically Assured Organisation (TAO), Geotesta was engaged to provide accredited geotechnical and earthworks assessment support for the redevelopment, working alongside Delta Group and Mirvac.

The redevelopment involves complex, high-risk construction activities in a dense urban waterfront environment, including deep excavations, high-rise piling, extensive earthworks and interfaces with Sydney Water and TfNSW assets. Geotesta’s accredited construction support spans bearing capacity assessments, proof rolling, piling platform assessments and batter and cut-face assessments, together with engineering assessments on works adjacent to Sydney Water assets and of micropiles installed next to the TfNSW light rail track.

Geotesta’s contribution ensures technically assured, auditable and compliant delivery of geotechnical and earthworks-related assessments, supporting the safe and efficient construction of Harbourside as a key component of Darling Harbour’s $15 billion renewal.
