Environmental Due Diligence Assessment, Charlemont

Read more below

A client was considering purchasing the site. Geotesta was engaged to conduct a Due Diligence Environmental Assessment to understand the potential liabilities. The site was comprised of several blocks of low density rural housing which were proposed to be redeveloped as a residential aged care facility.

Geotesta undertook a desktop and field investigation which included:

  • A desktop review of site history, EPA and Government records, site geology and groundwater;
  • Site inspection;
  • Excavation of test pits across the site to 1.5 m bgl;
  • Collection of samples and analysis for a wide range of potential chemicals of concern.

Fieldworks were undertaken in conjunction with Geotesta’s geotechnical team providing cost savings on mobilisation and a single point of contact for the client for multiple services.

Geotesta analysed all the information collated and summarised the assessment in a final report. The findings indicated that the site was suitable for the proposed residential development and further investigations, including a Preliminary Risk Screen Analysis or an Environmental Audit, were unlikely to be required as part of the future development of the site.
